The Demon Rally Team suffered a bit of a set back at the Olympus Rally. After starting off with a Great Showing, well Tom summed it up best by saying :
..............." lost it on a right into a left, tried to correct, but it spun too far. met a dirt bank on the front driver side corner, which increased the velocity of the spin. sent the passenger side corner deep into the dirt, flipping the car on it's top. spun another 180 on the top and came to a rest. destroyed pretty good. to make matters worse, the video recorder got pulled off the mount and did not record the roll."

And since pictures speak louder than words:

Unfortunately, as you can see the Bunny is gone, but not forgotten. Demon Rally will forge ahead with plans that have been in the works for a long time. Stay tuned.

(Pomeroy, WA) - The FineTuning / Bow-wow Import Parts sponsored DemonRally Team and some guy named Pastrana are headed to Pomeroy, Washington for the third round of the Rally America National Championship and the second round of the Pacific Northwest Rally Championship. While Pastrana, Block, Foust, Pinker, Richard, and the rest battle it out for bragging rights at the national level, the Burress brothers will be fighting at the regional level for first place in 2WD.

Their swiftest competition includes a Fire-breathing Volvo with at least twice the horsepower, a quick Nissan, a well-crafted and experienced MkII Golf and a host of others looking to unseat the Rabbit from it's position as one of the quickest 2WD cars in the northwest, despite being one of the oldest as well.

At the recent Doo Wops Rally, the DemonRally team consistently placed in the top 5 overall, including two overall stage wins, and won Group 2 on every stage they ran. They set a new record on the infamous Brooklyn stage. Twice! Only faulty fuel pumps kept them from winning the rally overall.

Olympus is a new challenge for many of the competitors as local road regulations have caused the Olympus rally to be moved from it's regular location to the far southeastern corner of Washington. The roads themselves are much different on that side of the state, with plenty of fast sections where an unwary rallyist can be caught out by an unseen turn. The DemonRally team was looking forward to exacting their revenge on the Nahwatzel stage that proved the end of their rally last year, but instead will be tackling this new challenge in the hopes of winning 2WD in preparation for repeating that feat at Oregon Trail in May and to win the Olympus 2008 Regional 2WD Challenge.

There are many reasons to spectate at this particular rally. The national rally brings the spectacle one would expect of the rally series that runs the event at the X-games. Big names include Travis Pastrana, Kenny "Cowboy" Bartram, Ken Block, Tanner Foust, Pat Richard, Andy Pinker, Dave Mirra, and many more. Volkswagen fans will be excited to hear that there are 4 VW's entered in the competition at the time of this release, including an amazing VW R32 driven by the leading American VW rally driver at this time, Chris Duplessis. If you're looking for inspiration to start rallying, there are plenty of 2WD cars to watch and learn from, 16 of the 55 entries are Gp2, Gp5 or Production class.

Come out and show your support for the DemonRally team and for rally in general. If you've seen it on TV, you've only seen half the show. The taste of the dust or mud, the scent of high-octane race fuels, the sound of free flowing exhaust at high revs... this is rally.
